If i'm not wrong, that has to be dear Mr Daniel Radcliffe, better known as little Harry Potter. He's all grown up. They call it his buff new bod.

LOL. So not used to it.

Me and mummy don't see eye to eye on some issues, for example how we cook.

I guess all mums and daughters don't see eye to eye on this particular issue. Because my dear mummy assumes the kitchen is her haven, and she is damn downright possessive when it comes to me using the kitchen.

And we can't agree on the fact that i'd like to use measuring spoons and weighing scales for the first time i try a dish, she thinks its too troublesome.

Luckily the okra turned out great(although she doesn't seem to think so)

And i was soooo furious with her this morning because she threw away the christmas cards my friends sent(might be yours). Nono, i wasn't furious because of that, i was furious because she didn't seem to feel that she was in the wrong. Damnit. And it became my fault in the end because i shouldn't have raised my voice. She owes me so many apologies, but im writing all off just because yeah, SHE GAVE BIRTH TO ME.

Whoever came up with the rule that MUMMIES ARE ALWAYS RIGHT, SCREW U!

But we're ok now, since i went for some marketing therapy, and i cool down after that.

A pic of the delicious sambal chilli okra:

Went cycling yesterday with ms lai yy. Exercise is good for health, though not for the butt, since it's been hurtin, LOL.

PICTURES:

BRUEE BRUEE SKY. a some sort of ecogarden thingie we chanced upon. Great weather for biking

Biking is damn cheap at ecp, 5 bucks for 2 hours. Value for money. Anyway, something interesting happened when we went strolling by the beach. Baaa...ms lai's slipper got washed away by the tide:) because she was trying to 'rescue' my yellow slipper. HOHOHO. And she dumbly called jerald tang to come rescue her slipper, but of course he didnt, since he was far away. I'd bet he would if he was just nearby, haha, since yokeyee is a SHREW (jkjk).

Left one shoe nia

Ms LAI

MISS MOON is ecstatic. the sky, the sea.

I made footprints. Pretty one hor.

They say fair is the new tan. But im damn red now. So where does that place me?

badly burnt

Baa..sometimes my entry reads like i am a twelve year old kid who's barely past her adolescent period.

I sometimes wonder why young Singaporeans are so uncivilised when it comes to
queuing.

The reason for this lament is due to yesterday's long hour of queuing at 飞轮海's autography signing session. It makes you wonder whether these teenagers (although i'm one too) need some little help with their emotional quotients, and how they deal with the long wait.

It's reasonable that you get fidgety and restless, when we're talking about waiting from 3pm to 8pm in the sweltering heat and packed place. However, that gives no reason for one to shout vulgarities and display their annoyance in a terribly wrong way. Yes, not even when people cut queues.

No, I don't mean it's alright to cut queues, i just mean you only reserve the right to tell people off politely and intelligently, not of making a public nuisance of yourself. I was utterly disgusted by people cutting queue too, but one mistake should not beget another, and nobody should behave like a rowdy kid even if you're standing up for everyone in the queue. And i won't thank you for shouting into my ears either. :)

We didn't manage to get their signatures in the end, not even when we arrive early at 2pm. But, i wasn't really angry, just a bit disappointed. Anyway, there's still the hanakimi thing today at TM.

Some pictures:

Queues

Queues

Queues

and more ridiculous queues.

Nvm, it means they are popular.

By the way, i would risk the fact that everyone would say ive gone bonkers to tell you something:

I went queuing today, AGAIN!!! Hahahaha.

But today, it was at donut factory, early in the afternoon. Hohoho. And with a much civilised working adult crowd. So no complains, especially if you get delicious donuts:

Tried the mocha lotus flavour already. Was good but just good only. The recommended ones are double choc, strawberry white, kaya white, wasabi cheese and glazed, but ive yet to try them.

And, I had bratswurst sausages earlier on at home:

Ermz, a very misleading photo i took with my sausage. 不要想歪歪!

It was food shopping at the marketplace, came home with several bags of food. After the donut queuing, i bought a saigon baguette for my dinner from Baguette, Bratswurst sausages, terra purple potato chips, mushroom pizza, jap fish fillet and more... I really wouldn't mind being a supermarket shopping housewife.

Or....a food guru, professional gourmet, f&b industry entrepreneur....I could even forget about the boutique that im bent on establishing.

LOL.

But im becoming too much of a foodie lately that all the entries are strewn with pics of food food and more food. :)

Bagus Bagus sia.

Boo Hoo...I didn't manage to get the doughnuts after all. After half an hour of queuing, poor ms moon was informed by the crew that there were not enoughh doughnuts for everyone in the queue...bah.

The queue was this long!!!:

However, Ms Moon is determined to get her doughnuts, this time round i'll get 2 dozens!!! I know the donut craze is a passing faze, but i get crazy once i see the pic of that assorted bunch of colourful dough in a box. :)

Goin to queue early morning on mon before the shop opens. I just don't believe they'll turn away their first customer of the day!

Anyway, was at Marina yesterday with mum and weiyingermei, to shop for ermei's new year clothes. And, that means new clothes for me as well, since we share our wardrobe. *heh heh*

In the topshop dressing room:

That horrible mustard yellow top, i'll finally forget about it, considering the fact that the colour looks shit on me.

The great thing about this shopping treat were not the bargains, nor the buys. It was the food. Again. haha.

Teatime at 包今天:

包今天, should be enough to attract because of it's name. Sell what leh? Sell 包 lah!

The mango and prawn roll is a must-try! Absolutely delicious..

Dinnertime was actually a torture, because New York New Tork was utterly packed with long queues too. Proceeded to The Marketplace, but though it's well-known for the good food, i think we've been scammed by the overwhelming publicity, turned out there were limited food choices. My mum didn't like Aerin's, so we settled for Asian Kitchen. But the food turned out good too, especially the roasted duck, with its crispy and not-too-oily skin. Great place for dinner, especially if my mum enjoys it too.

Me and mummy

Ms Ng Wai Ying as usual, refuses a shot.

great food, great company. Muacks. Lovely day.

Watchin 飞轮海 at IMM later. 吴尊,等等我!

it's not everyday that i do something irresponsible. Although it's not like i committed some sin either. But, i pon kidsread today.

Partly because ive spend the entire day in courts and ikea shopping and im dead beat. Partly because i decided to return home before i go off for kidsread, the end result being me wanting so much to just stay at home.

I promise i'll go next week. Anyway, im missing the kids. Anyway, I feel a tad bit guilty. Sorry guys.

-_-

But it was "big buys" today at Ikea. Got my measuring spoons, and kitchen weighing scale. As well as a portrait for the bare walls of my room. Got a magnetic board too, although its not up yet.

Ikea's really a mega store, but i hate the "min customer service" policy. My mum was grumbling that we had to pack the stuff in the plastic bags by ourselves. Getting the staff to go the extra mile shouldn't cost you extra bucks, even if you're thinkin in the shoes of the customer who wants to save extra dollars. But those huge yellow trucks looked like those miniscule ones i had when i was young. Weiyingermei thinks they'd look like wonka trucks full of yummy candies if only it was a different coat of colour.

I hope i'd get the doughnuts tomorrow. :)

Recipe for Dark Chocolate Cup Cakes (makes 15)

Ingredients:
125g Self-raising flour
125g Butter( normal type will do)
125g sugar (fine)
2 tsp vanilla essence
4 tbsp milk (i used the meiji fresh milk)
2 eggs
3 tsp cocoa powder
100g dark choc melted (I always prefer Lindt dark choc, although they are more expensive)

Icing: 125g butter
125g icing sugar
food colouring (pink would be nice, but i didnt use any)

These ingredients can be bought in all leading supermarkets...duh.

1. Melt the dark chocolate. From Ms Lai Yoke Yee's baking book, Mrs Oliver has learnt that chocolate cannot come into direct contact with fire, otherwise will chao tah. Place a bowl of choc on a metal stand first. (Aiyah, something like a short retort stand)
2. Cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
3. Add eggs, flour, milk, cocoa powder, dark chocolate and vanilla essence. Beat until they look something like this:

Best if you get the pro to do the job:

4. Spoon into cupcake cups (2/3 full)

5. Bake for 15 mins at 200 degree Celsius.

6. Mix butter and icing sugar in a large mixing bowl for the icing. Add food colouring(optional)
7. Leave cupcakes to cool. After cooling, pipe icing on top.

Voila!

Recipe for Creamy Potato Gratin (Serves 3-4)

Ingredients:
750g potatoes (about 7-8)
1 onion(optional)
125g grated Cheddar Cheese
375ml cream
2 teaspoon chicken stock powder (we used the granule form)

1. Peel potato skin(pose recommended for best effect)

Actually, Mrs Jamie Oliver prefers them raw.

Women prefer to be meticulous and weigh the ingredients one by one.
2. Cut the potato into thin slices. Beware of hands.

Should end up like this:

3. Layer potato on baking dish. After one layer, layer onion slices on top if preferred. Divide the cheese into half, save one half for the topping. Use the other half as a layer over the potato and onion slices. Keep layering until it looks like this:

4. Whisk the cream and chicken stock powder in a mixing bowl. Pour over the layers. (I would advise against this, could skip this step, since the result was a stomach-turning layer of disgusting oil)

Cream

chicken stock

ooh
5. Sprinkle the last half of the cheese as topping.
6. Bake in oven for 40 mins at 180 degree Celsius.

Big big one

small small one
Voila once again!

mmm...enjoyin mummy's delicioous 花生汤 as i type this entry

today is a free day and a break for me after 3 days of activities. Normally, i wince at the thought of having to stay at home for one whole day, because i had several "whole days" last week and i totally feel as if i was rotting from the inside. :) Felt like a living dead, since i wasnt doin anything other than surfing online, watching tv or lying around. Hee, but with these 3 full days of activities, i feel like i deserve this break now. Sometimes, you have to earn your rest time...now i know why everyone is trying to find some work to occupy their time (although im still not plannin to start work any soon, maybe after the new year)

Saturday was gym+swimming day with YY. That was the day i was revived from the "living dead". I wanna move it move i wanna move it move it i wanna move it move it......im goin mad. Just let the pictures talk:

I've finally been to the new swimming pool...
Frankly, you cant call what i do in the swimmin pool swimming. Swimming is non-existent in my dictionary. Moon don't like no swimming, just like frolicking? in the water, hahahaha. But no fret if there's gonna be johore-flood-sizes floods in singapore, because moon knows how to thread water, and float like a lifeless body, all thanks to lai yoke yee. Please don't laugh, although i know it's rare to meet someone who's a complete idiot when im in the 1.8m pool. My body's not conditioned for swimming, i think it's hereditary because neither my dad nor mum knows the water. I'd prefer to stay on land, i'd always thought mankind were land mammals. There's no reason for us to behave like toads, frogs, tortoises, and ......i don't know. I'm 强词夺理ing.

99cents sushi. cheap cheap only. YY and me have been contemplatin settin our foot in nihon mura, this jap restaurant under suki sushi that's outside the swimming pool. As introduced by some channel 8 programme hosted by my fave patmok!! Same leh, there was also the ice cream sticks ordering system...

tako yaki and octopus! and we had delicious fried tofu too. Me like cheap jap food.

strawberry oreo icecream was heavenly. I would come back for this. Highly recommended, unless you don't like strawberry, oreo biscuits, strawberry waffles or nuts in the ice cream. Finger-slappin good.

the chopstick box which looked like a coffin in this pic. The reason why this is featured is because i was a total idiot when i was going 怎么开?怎么开? and the waiter had to open this for me. Honestly, that's because i only know how to handle much more sophisticated gadgets, hee.

Then on Sunday, SM Painting Company knocked on the door, for a 50 dollar paint job:

Meet the Mad and Lock-cok painter. Anyway, it was my first try at painting walls, fun and backbeaking (something like planting rice hor SSM?) now i have brand new walls. We were quite unprofessional, because we were chattin and playin around on the job. Like this:

and this....

the voodoo doll we promised weitingxiaomei

大功告成!!!
from left: moon, weiyingermei, ssm

Yesterday, met up with yuan for Pan's Labyrinth, been almost 2 months since we last met so we had loads to catch up on. Talked alot, and witnessed her jumbo appetite. Had malay nasi, taiwan 鸡排,and more i think. And thanks for the ride on 65 even though it wasn't on the way, hohoho...

However, we did have different views regarding the movie. She felt that it was less fairytale and more violence and reality, and that the front part didn't linked. But somehow, i like it for being different. It's only once in a while you catch a movie like this that weaves the tale as it intersects between reality and fantasy so magically, yup, just like a labyrinth. The background of the story was set rather accurately, in the fascist regime look-alike, as it tells a tale of escapism, that fantasy and daydreaming is fundamental to living in a world like this. Nice. I liked the almost open-ended ending, since it's up to us to decide whether Ofelia's "dream" was a dream and fantasy, or was it reality? Great movie to start the year with.

Anyway, after the entry on cheenah weiting xiao mei, the 8 days issue of " better to be a real cheenah than a faux angmoh" came out. Apt article to indicate that it's OUR ERA. Like what it says in the article, "You want people to show you the chua jee? Then you've got to speak huayu." Yeah, huayu cool 万岁!Down with the kentangs, beware marcius goh (hahahaha)

Im ending with a call for all jokers...:) Planning to start collecting joker cards, so everyone if you have any jokers that's different from the ones i already have, please donate. Leave a note on the tagboard and i'll get back to you. Thank you.
