It turns out we might not be the only ones with secrets. Shhh....
The thing about secrets...is everyone has a skeleton in his closet. I have secrets that i haven't even told the closest soul, those nearest to me. I don't see why we can't keep secrets, yet sometimes when you stumble upon others' secrets, you wonder....why are secrets secrets?
And the other day on the bus, i was pondering over two words in the dictionary: satisfied and satisfactory.
Satisfied is sometimes a replacement word for happy. We're always told to be satisfied with what we have. So in a way, satisfied is a positive word. Yet, the word satisfactory, which stems from satisfied, has evolved to become somewhat more negative than positive, don't you think so? Haven't you always done polls when satisfactory is something that's treated with disdain as compared to excellent, great, very good and good. Satisfactory is nowhere here nor there, nowhere near good, nowhere near bad.
Isn't it kind of like an irony? So should we be satisfied with satisfactory?

with all that complaining in the previous post just five minutes ago, i discovered i forgot to mention how fun malay lesson was yesterday night. A BA CHA DA FA...hohohohoho...FAGA...
really, when you fill your brain with all the negatives, you tend to forget the good and the fab.
Luckily it just takes five minutes to remember something good that happened in my life. My brain works.

i cancelled badminton with Ade- this morning because i was deeply traumatised by the pain in my right leg. Gosh, it was really early in the morning like 6am.
And i was reading the supplement that comes with Straits Times, Mind Your Body and there was an article on restless legs which usually occur in bed at night. To my horror, i had most of the symptoms, and i found out that this is usually caused by an iron deficiency.
That's why. I don't take wholemeal nor green leaves.
DUnno whether i'm bein paranoid. But sometimes i feel like i'm dying.
Down with a flu now too. urgh. and it's so hot.

I hope I mean it when i've said this, but recently, the Al Gore wave has kindof swept me off my feet, and whoosh, I'm like nodding nodding when it comes to another Al Gore comment on global warming.
Hmmm....
What can we do to save precious Earth?
1. TRY to separate the garbage into "paper", "plastic bottles" and "unsortables". Provided i can get the consent of my mum who will always give the vote for convenience. But like Mr Gore says, saving the earth can sometimes be very "inconvenient"
2. Take as little bags as possible when going shopping.
3. No air con. (something i've been practising since young) Geez, see i started from a young age. We should always start young. Educate the kids!! Use biodegradable diapers!
4. Use 2 sides of the paper
5. Use lesser toilet paper. Use biodegradable toilet paper. But i don't think i can commit to the famous Sheryl Crow's technique of using one square per sitting. Ridiculous!
I hope we can all go green together.
By the way, I went for the College Day ceremony the other day. And i made physical contact with Mr V Balakrishnan!!!!!OOH... Ok, i won't make it sound so lewd. Okok, i merely shook hands with him. AND I SWEAR MY HEART SKIPPED A BEAT...
Seriously, he's a natural speaker and he was so good with his speech and oh-so-charismatic. I'm starting to understand why his wife is called Mrs Joy Balakrishnan. I would be called Joy too if i get to be called Mrs Balakrishnan. Damnit, i didn't manage to get a good photo of him.
But, here's me with something he had touched:
We viewed the Photog exhibition and it was actually quite good this year. Though i always thought the Scope is not very accessible hence the dearth of people every year. Personally, i liked Wee Chuan's works because those really stood out from the rest. And i'm very glad that all of them have improved in their skills. It was overall, a good exhibition put up by them and i could really see the efforts.
We left a funnily-crafted feedback for the comments book:

Because, honestly, we should lend our support to the juniors for the brilliant showcase of their works....hootx.
It was great talking to the teachers. We spent such a long time talking to Miss Wong, Mrs Lee, Miss Kwan, 彭老师 and Mr V. After that, we went shopping for Simin's prez @ Orchard and like how Simin put it, we always become very 狼狈 when we go out together.
This time round, the heels hurt like hell!

Finally both my sisters are done with their exams(though it has nothing much to do with me) and we managed to do some real catchin up on Friday. Went for the movies with weitingxiaomei and we watched two movies in a row. Spiderman 3 actually exceeded my expectations because i always thought that franchise movies tend to "lose it" in the end, but it was a great way to round up the trilogy. I actually appreciated the fact that there were more villains though people around me were complaining that there wasn't enough time to develop the characters. Bridge to Terabithia was surprising though, because i thought since it's a work by the same producers behind Narnia, it'll be about the same. But in the end it was just a fictional land made up by two kids lettin their imagination run wild. Good that there's a moral behind the story, that is not to inhibit your creativity and imagination, and let the author out of yourself, but it's a bit too long and draggy after you know it's all not real.
We actually had dinner at Billy's after the movies, with weiyingermei joining us, and her "nicole jokes" had us laughing crazily. Anyway, the food wasn't that great, at least it didn't taste as great as i would want it to be. I would always be eyeing that plate on the customer's table and thinkin it looked so good. But well ya noe, looks are deceiving.
Kidsread was lots of fun too with the camping trip game and we actually came up with the party idea. It's going to be safari-themed and we're going to do a mock campfire. Animal food, animal games will be a great way to round up the last session. Am so gonna miss the kids...esp. darwisyah (damnit, i really show favouritism, that's why i'll stick to the decision of neva eva bein a teacher)

Watched The Departed finally....and i won't want to credit it for its numerous nominations at the Academy coz it felt like a complete replica of 无间道, and i liked the HK version better.
No point trying to bestow accolades on the director for such a work, although he's a fella that ought to be paid his dues.

Anyway, received my TIME's 100 influential ppl issue and it's great since George W Bush is officially striked off the list! OUTOUTOUT. And my, Ho Ching is in..which i can't believe. It's an extraordinary list this year with Cate Blanchett and Al Gore in too...wowo..
BTW, just to fully utilise my right to the freedom of expression, my opinion is that Barack Obama should win the next presidential election, and im all out rooting for him.

There are a few changes at BB's this week, with newcomers like Angel(not the angel that we know, some girl called Angelina), a new supervisor Haze who seems reasonably nice, and BOO...Mandy's leavin us next week for Cineleisure. Labels: movies, Spiderman, work
I'd say besides Simin and Jac, Mandy is the one who keeps me entertained in BB, because she is one of the few decent beings there i can relate to, haha.
Actually workin at BB is a source of stress too, as i continually urge myself not to make a single mistake at work. The other day, i fell three times in the kitchen because of slippery shoes and broke a plate, and it was the same unlucky day i missed Spiderman because all the tickets were booked. Yesterday was great because i didn't make mistakes, because although great men once said you learn from mistakes, ms moon hates making mistakes. Urgh.
Spiderman frenzy. Long queues outside cinemas, all timeslots red red and red. Franchise movies are the hot stuff for the coming months, with all movie titles ending with a number, Spiderman 3, Shrek 3, Pirates trilogy, Ocean's Thirteen, Harry Potter trilogy.....
And people are great sports when they don ugly loud Spiderman shirts when they go watch the movie, so much for the right attire for the right occasion.
